Outlook crashes

Hi there

 

I'm hoping someone can help, I use Office 365 at a school and we have just upgraded our licensing so we have office 2013, I updated the finance lady's computer from office 2007 to 2013, and outlook just got stuck on loading profile and wouldn't go any further. I tried everything I could think of, ran in safe mode, reinstalled office 2013, scanpst, recreated the profile, checked all updates where installed, ran the office 365 desktop setup, removed the profiles from the registry. Probably some more aswell but I forget now.

 

None of that worked so I thought sod it I shall downgrade her back to 2007, and now outlook just crashes and says not responding when I try open it up, I have done all the same fixes I tried for outlook 2013 but nothing works.

Am I doing something really stupidly wrong, or can someone help me please :)

Just tested and it crashes on any profile I try

Yes, most of the Outlook problems are caused by corrupt PST files, bad profiles, and installation problems. However, what I will suggest is to diagnose the problem accurately instead of trying them in dark. Below is an article in how to diagnose the Outlook problem:

Had this problem too turned out to be a problem with Hardware Graphics Acceleration for Office 2013. Added a Reg Key to turn it off and Outlook worked perfectly. Message me and I'll dig the Reg Key out.

The Outlook could be getting crashed due to any of the following reasons:

 

· Your operating system is virus infected

· Hardware issues

· Outlook installation has become corrupt

· Outlook data files have been damaged/ corrupt

· Any installed application might be hampering the Outlook’s normal functioning.

 

To diagnose what the root cause of the problem is, you need to run a diagnostics test.

Ask her to log into a different computer thereby creating a new outlook profile. Then you will know if it is a hardware issue or profile issue.
