Hi

Want to ask a quick question peeps!

I have had this problem with Google home page for a while now and I'm scratching my head. keeping in mind its only happened since the install of IE11

various users around our school have reported that when they load "www.google.co.uk" from their IE11 browser. the home page loads up and then moves to the bottom of the page. they then try to click into the box where they search in Google and it doesn't do anything.

I have taken screen shots of the problem just to show you what I mean.

As far as I'm aware this has only happened since IE11 was installed and already tried to run IE11 without add ons and still the same results!

any ideas?

p.s. I'm aware that IE11 is rubbish and I shouldn't have bothered but its not going to help me in the process so please no stupid replies :) lol

I've pushed out a package which simply deletes the "Smart INK" value from [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] - this stops it running at logon.

I've not yet had negative feedback, but I only did it on Wednesday...

HI All

I can now confirm that Smart Ink was the problem!!

now the crafty thing is i cannot update the software unless i pay a licence!

i can only say one thing, smart are crafty, i wont be renewing my licence with them

also want to note that if i terminate the "Smart Ink" from task manager you cannot draw on the board. then turns the pens into cursors.

so im stuck with buggy software but cannot update unless i pay a licence to upgrade.

This was a horrible issue! Without this place I would never have worked out that it was SmartInk causing the problem!

I think that moving to the latest version of the free Smart software (11.4) will also resolve this issue.

yes. the notebook installation does include the updated smart ink software bundled with it.

when you install the software just do a update check i think there is one more update for smart ink, which is what it did with me.

just make sure there are no more updates for smart ink after installation
