Having a bit of trouble with the iPads over here.

We are using profile manager as our mdm and have created the enrolment profile, which i have then put into profile manager. When i go to install it onto the device through apple Configurator i get the error messages profile installation Failed and connection to the server could not be established. However if i go onto the iPad and enrol from there by going to the server address it works fine and have no problem.

Anyone have any ideas why?

Thanks

If you're importing profiles from ones created in Profile Manager with either a self signed or CA Cert not in Apple's default trust chain then you have to also install the trust Profile which you can download from Profile Manager's web interface.

The iPad will need to be connected to the WiFi network before you install the enrolment profile but I imagine you already know this

The error code when looked up relates to this

error -23001 ipBadCnfgErr: The manually set address is configured improperly.

But after that i have no idea.

This is an IP Address/Mac OS X Event error, I would double check that your Profile Manager Server has all necessary services configured correctly eg. APNS, I would also not configure wifi using Profile Manager, set this using Configurator. I've linked a guide below from a well respected OS X Server guru
