Mac taking ages to get to the Network Accounts Green Light

Hi

I've got a dodgy Mac ....it is taking 30-40 mins to get to the Network Accounts Green Light. It's only this mac having an issue.

I've rebooted our Mac server......

It seems to be faster when I put it on Wireless but can't say for sure....

I've plugged a windows laptop into the network point and can ping quickly.....and logon to our windows domain quickly......can anyone suggest some other things I can check please?

I would check you have the setting right on the Nic, DNS etc.

 

If not I would reimage the machine.

check that its set to get its time from your own server rather than time.apple.com as at least with windows ive found macs very fussy about time difference when logging into ad

As above - I had lots of slow login issues unless I set the time server to be one of our AD servers.

Having a .local domain also makes it slower but it shoudls till be fast enough not to cause disruption.

Thanks everyone. It is a weird problem. It could be the network card on the mac / we were going to re-image it to see. I will report back - anyway all very helpful thankyou.

Just to say there is no AD involved in this mac network.......................................just OD. I will try a manual IP instead of DHCP to see if that makes a difference.

I would second DNS, make this your first port of call.
