Interesting watch, I have never thought they where any good in the sound department always stuck with Bose headphones.

Highly overrated company that manufactures inferior audio components that fail to compete with equipment in a price range that undercuts many Bose products tenfold.

At work I treat my ears to AKG K702's via an EHP-O2. Aural heaven.

Dr Dre did spend time working with studios to get the headphones to sound good...unfortunately, they sound good to him. What sounds great too me, sounds awful to anyone else, because we all have different hearing abilities. I can't hear certain frequencies, so I have to adjust the equaliser and such like so that it sounds right for me. I have been told by others that it is awful for them, but hey ho.

I love my Beats but, in fairness, the only thing I ever notice about sound quality is that "tinny" sound you get on poor speakers/headphones, beyond that I'm relatively oblivious.

 

Which headphones would people recommend then?

I stick with sennheiser personally. I've not had an issue with them. I've tried Bose, Phillips, Skullcandy, Sony and Plantronics, and found that for music, they just don't compare (to me).

See above. Actually, I recommend people try various makes and models - most folks aren't as fussy as I am and headphones are generally better sound quality than a speaker set-up (it's a lot simpler to get it right). In the end as @nephilim says, people have their own tastes and if it sounds good to you, that's all that matters.

I also would rate Sennheiser the only reason I ever got my Bose one's was because I won them around 2 years ago in a competition. I have some Sennheiser CX-300 at home and they're brilliant and at around £30 you can't go wrong!!

 

Though to be fair the Samsung In Ear's that came with my Note 3 are pretty blooming' good aswell!

Well I am pretty content with my Beats for the time being but might give Sennheiser another try once I start thinking about replacing them. Had some great in-ear Sennheisers quite a few years ago. Only really jumped on the Beats bandwagon because my friends clubbed together to get me some for my birthday a couple of years ago.

As the video states it depends what you're looking for, if you're not too worried about sound quality but care about design, presentation and brand then it's beats, if you don't care about design but just want really good audio quality then it's something like Sennheiser.

You can see why Apple bought them out though, Apple being very much in the same position in the market with gorgeous products that aren't necessarily the greatest.

I only really use headphones in the gym, walking or cycling. I tend to look for headphones that are waterproof/sweatproof.

 

I would never spend above £30 for headphones.
