Possible issue with KB2918614 causing overlapped I/O operation in progress errors.

im glad i could help :) Sounds like one of those random events where different software packages combine to create a problem.

If it was a random update that didnt have too much significance i wouldnt have worried too much about removing it. However where its related to windows installer, it got me wondering if it was safe not having that update or what else would have been affected if id left it installed.

All of the affected clients work perfectly now that wsus has forced a removal of the update. I still may contact sophos incase they are aware and have a fix.

Thanks for this post, I had tested the latest updates but hadn't encountered this error. Just removed it from WSUS, hopefully no PCs have taken this update yet.

Same problem with KB2918614.

I've tried everything, sfc /scannow, windows installer unreg and reg, system restore etc.

If I remove the update there is no problem otherwise causing overlapped I/O operation in progress errors...

In my company there is a checking software which always install this update soon after I remove :(

Hi,

KB2918614 Has been causing us problems as well. Haven't been able to install ANY software when logged in as network admin, Windows throws a 'The profile for the user is a temporary profile' message.

Uninstalling KB2918614 fixes the issue
