I suspect that the answer to this will be "get a new phone", but...

Just built myself a new PC as above (Outlook x32) and plugged in my phone via USB. Windows Mobile Device Manager loaded and seemed to set up the phone and sync, but no changes to calendar or contacts were made. Looking at the WMDC screen, most items say "Outlook is not configured" and there's no way to check the box. Have tried various "fixes" (including deleting partnerships on PC/phone) but nothing seems to work and word on the net suggests that it won't. Unless someone here knows of a way to get it to work?

I have found Akruto Sync that does the job wirelessly - it looks like it sets up a mini Exchange server and I strongly suspect that there's a way to DIY what it does - but would rather not use (and pay for!) 3rd party software if possible.

Email with Virgin. I did read some suggestions about doing it via the cloud, but a lot of them then seem to have problems when services changed (which is why I'd prefer to avoid the cloud if possible).

Just had a look, and I don't think Virgin offer the calendar as part of the service :(.

I could (probably) just start using my inactive Google a/c to sort out the calendar and contacts, but I'd rather use the Akruto and avoid changing to make too many changes.
