The UKs Most Crap Christmas Decorations

I am not trying to ruin Christmas but I want to show you guys something. In Manchester the Christmas decorations were up during Halloween so that’s October. The Christmas decorations are crap. There is a video on YouTube that shows you them I have posted the link below.

 

In the video there is a lot of pointless talking but look a 1:39 in the video to 3:05 they have a valid point. It looks like the shopping centre have piled together anything they could find.

 

There are Red Indians, Crabs, Lobsters, a polar bear dressed up as a pirate??? This is a Christmas display, What’s going on here???

All the left wing, liberal love ALL mankind except your own muppets have forced councils and centres to stop with the Christianity of Christmas and make it non dominational in-case they offend the Muslims, Jews, Pakistanis or A N Other minorty group...

 

So what we get is the dilution of OUR holiday and get these generic “Nativity” Displays.... which are rubbish

 

I think Birmingham bans Christmas and called it the Winterval or something.. maybe they stopped it as there was a massive backlash ..

 

But yes we have all the leftie love your “other” man and we English must be punished for the sins of our Fathers.. for the state of Christmas and so called Multiculturalism which is destroying our culture..

I'll just start off with telling you that I'm from Birmingham origionally and live in Walsall over the holidays which is just outside of Birmingham.

 

Birmingham doesn't have any christian symbolism at Christmas from what i can remember of last year. But they do call it Christmas...i.e. "Turning on the Christmas Lights."

 

But what we do have a LOT of is stars. Stars and stars and stars. It's an ambiguous symbol that they can get away with putting in lights. But that has deep seated christian roots at christmas time.

 

At christmas the magi followed a star to bethlehem to go and see jesus and give him some cool sh*t.

 

So if it bothers you that much come to Brum and look at all the pretty stars

Which is odd as in Leicester arguable most multicultural place in the UK displays work like this.

 

They have Diwali lights till it ends then lights go off (the signs are changed from Happy Diwali to Happy Christmas and few of lights changed). They then put up in town hall either side displays based on a kids book as a rule. Through last year they had santa grotto thing one side this year it is Wallace & Gromit and Woodland Tales

 

Then in middle they have nativity scene...

 

Lights are turned on at end of November.

 

Does anyone get offend no displays are enjoyed by all religions...

 

Also they use energy efficient light bulbs as well

Leeds City Council managed to put some remarkably phallic candles down boar lane one year, complete with "sprig of holly" balls. The next year they were relegated to a much less "obvious" place. I try and find where they've hidden em each year, but i didn't find them in 2006, so maybe they're gone

Wow...I cant believe how much this post has pissed me off

 

First of all Im a self confessed 'leftie' and also an atheist but I have got no problem with christmas being the dominant religious festival in this country (apart from it being far too commercialised) and I can also tell you that vast majority of Muslims, Sikhs, Jews, any religion you could name, have NO problem with Chritsmas - why would they?

The problem is over zealous local council (and central government in some cases) idiots who seem to believe that every non christian would be offended. Its got nothing to do with them being liberal or left wing, just that they are idiots.

 

To be honest from the way you talk it sounds more like you're a fully paid up BNP member rather than just someone concerned about over the top political correctness

Also if you ever get invited to Diwali seriously go I haven’t had pleasure but it is amazing experience especially if go to one of the big towns like Leicester or Birmingham.

i was up in leeds in october and was suprised to see the christmas lights were already up... when i queried why this was, with a local, I was told that they don't even bother to take them down ALL year because they'll just have to put them back up again. Now thats what I call lazy... they just turn them off

 

btw I have to agree with the over zealous political correctness in terms of the christmas lights, the reason why there is a holiday over that period of time in the first place is because of a religious belief therefore, why still celebrate it if you're too scared to mention what it is in aid of... to be honest if people CHOOSE to live in a country, although that country needs to accomodate these people to a degree, its not fair to then question their traditions... because not many other countries would tolerate it the other way around
