I have 2 HP Procurve 5412zl switches. I have 2 x 1GB fibre links between them which I would like to aggregate to double the bandwidth. On looking at the port configuration I can see that there is "trunking" and "LACP" available. My understanding is that a "trunk" in HP terms means an aggregated link but then there is also an option for LACP.

How would I configure the ports so I get a 2GB pipe between the switches? No VLANs here.

No you need to set the ports on one switch that is part of the LACP as active and the ports on the other switch as passive although active both ends will work.

You should see traffic going down both ports on the switch if its working ( look at the port counters)
