Autodesk Education Master Suite - .lic file for license server?

Has anyone obtained a .lic file from Autodesk for the educational freebie so installs can be licensed via a license server (same as Solidworks) rather than entering an unique key into 500-odd machines?

 

I've asked them, but I'm not hopeful that they'll have thought this far ahead.

 

Edit, yes you can if you RTFM. Login to registeronce.autodesk.com and follow the prompts. The "Server 1 ID" field is the MAC address stripped of any delimiters.

If you register for schools.autodesk.com you can choose between Network licenses (server) or Multi Seat Stand Alone licenses.

What did you do in the end? Did you go with Network or Multi-Seat Standalone licence types?

 

I'm in the process of creating a deployment and trying to install Autodesk and have already got serial numbers from the ARC.

 

When I go to registeronce.autodesk.com and enter the serial numbers, it tells me that it cannot be registered in the UK. My ARC account institution is registered is the US (Autodesk set it up during the phone call and I can't change it). I think I'm going about it the wrong way by attempting network licencing I'd probably be better with multi-seat standalone.

I did everything online - our school was already on their lists (I think I'd signed up before for something else).

 

We did a mix of 500 network (desktops that'll always be on our network) + 125 multi-seat standalone (staff laptops) licenses. I've just checked the internal IT wiki and I didn't appeae to discover anything terrible when installing it.

 

You'll probably need to contact Autodesk to fix the entry for your school.
