jman167 Posted November 9, 2007 Report Posted November 9, 2007 Hi, i'm in need of some help in relation to creating an stmenu for a school I support. I have experience using stmenu's run from a server, but have never created one. Basically, i'm fine with creating the stmenu, placing it on the server and copying to the client, but how and where do you put the bath file that rus that stmenu, everytime a user logs in, would this be placed in the logon script section of GP? Thanks in advance
mrforgetful Posted November 9, 2007 Report Posted November 9, 2007 What's an stmenu? The Start Menu? If so you can use Folder Redirection in Group Policy.
FN-GM Posted November 9, 2007 Report Posted November 9, 2007 I agree Folder Redirection is the way to go it’s dead easy to setup. Just apply the policy to the OU were your user accounts live.
Michael Posted November 9, 2007 Report Posted November 9, 2007 As FN-Greatermanchester said, Folder Redirection within Active Directory is what you're looking for. Creating folders all users can access on a server, which "act" as the Start Menu and Desktop users see when they logon. So for example, adding a shortcut to Microsoft Word in the Desktop folder, would mean it would appear for all users within a OU (Organisational Unit).
