Joanne Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Hi guys, our school had a scandal a few years back and I have been requested to remove a link from a google search. Thought I would share the document which has info on how to get stuff removed for reference. Requesting Information is removed from Sites on the Internet Getting posts removed from Facebook To request a post is removed from Facebook it is necessary to report it to Facebook. To do this, click on the top right corner of the post and click report. You will then be able to select why you wish to report the post. Alternatively, if it is a post that you cannot see but have been made aware of (if you are not logged in to a Facebook account) go to this link https://www.facebook.com/help/contact/274459462613911 and follow the instructions. Facebook will delete posts if they are deemed to be harassment or hateful (including racism and homophobia) or if they are breaking the Facebook community standards (found here: https://www.facebook.com/communitystandards), and may delete any reported fake profiles. Getting a video removed from YouTube If you wish a video to be removed from YouTube due to privacy issues, including your image, full name and/or a child's image used without your permission got to the following link and submit a report: https://support.google.com/youtube/contact/privacy?page To report a video for any other reason it is necessary to have a YouTube account and visit this link: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/2802027 It will show you how to flag a video. YouTube review any flagged videos and remove those that violate their Community guidelines (found here: YouTube). This will include videos containing abuse, spam and hate speech (including discrimination against race, sexual orientation, disability, gender etc.) and those subject to copyright. Requesting search results on Search Engines be deleted Following a recent court ruling in the European Courts, you now have the right to request that Google does not show results on a search that are deemed "outdated, irrelevant or otherwise inappropriate". You can make a request at this link: https://support.google.com/legal/contact/lr_eudpa?product=websearch You will require a legible copy of a photo ID to submit on the online form. NB: This will only remove the results from any European hosted Google, and not the American/elsewhere hosted Google. At the time of writing, no other search engines have produced a form or system for dealing with these requests, but they will be easily accessible from the help page on their websites once operational. Requesting any other website remove content Most website will at the bottom have a contact email address. Your first port of call should be contacting the website owner to request the content is removed. 1
