Not quite sure what the news is here, or why Jaguar have bothered. It's not a real device, or a real HUD - it's a concept of what a HUD could look like, except what that HUD looks like is the same as the last fifteen years of video games, except a bit rainier.

 

Not complaining about the link being posted, btw, never - just seems a bit cheeky of Jaguar to claim it's a revolutionary concept when there's nothing inventive or new about it in the slightest.

 

Though I did appreciate how they managed to make the ghost car look like an actual ghost, Ghostbusters style - green and glowy and a bit wobbly on the screen, just like real 80s movie effects!

Yeah I could see how it could be dangerous. Say something goes wrong with the screen/system and it starts putting virtual cones/objects on the road. Someone may get confused, swerve to avoid it and cause an accident.

 

Still looks cool though, but as sonofsanta said this isn't anything new really.
