Come on down!! you don't know what your missing in Tarn. You'll get the added bonus of being near to Toby Tyke, The tuscan vision of barnsley plus be able to talk the barnsley talk in no time. Things like growler (pork pie) will be your lingo in no time at all.

Seriously though its a good job.

Yes, it does look like an enjoyable job.

I thought growlers were a reference to the local talent in barnsley

I'm glad you've cleared up that confusion but I'm not going to even ask about this dyke of which you speak

I'm sure torledo you live in willy wonker land where everything has chocolate rivers and marhmellow flowers. Get to reality and to the dykes of south yorkshire.

@bensewell:

Spent eight years at Grimethorpe so i need no introduction to folk down there.

Being a yorkshire lad meself first question i would ask is why yer leevin?

whats the pay?

what developments are going down?

and what are the professional developments for (as the academy website states for non-teaching staff) which i find quite derogatory should be support staff?

Do they still use the common mating call down main street to pull chicks with?

Right you would be working for Bull TCL which basically is the councils IT service that went into a venture with Bull and called it Bull Tuscan Connects Limited. Don't ask why? But the council owns a 20% share in the company and all IT in the council is provided by Bull TCL.

The reason i'm leaving is because i come from a database background and i've been in continuous training since i left school and now i've graduated with a Honours degree in business computing so i've got another database / data analysis job within the council.

Training is good. There are lots of new build schools getting built so there is lots of chances to get involved with lots of stuff. The job itself you could be based at any school around the borough primary or secondary that buy into our services. The local mating call starts with a pint of barnsley bitter.....

Wow! Round here you would get sacked for having a conflict of interests like that!

Doesn't sound like a conflict of interest if Bull TCL was setup as the vehicle to provide ICT services for the council under an outsourcing agreement awarded to Bull whereby the council retain a stake (in this case the 20%) in the newly formed venture and with a mixture I presume of existing council and bull staff transfered over to the new company.

More Like an IT transformation partnership similar to ServiceBirmingham (Capita and Birmingham City Council)

If you wanted to get into conflicts of interest then look no further than Hull Council and Kingston Communications... :|

Anyways, Hoyland is a bit nicer for those folks who prefer a quieter life not far away :)
