TechMonkey Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 You don't want to look at someof the other body modification stuff out there then. someone pointed me in the direction of one set of pictures and it is of skin cutting (not the actual term but can't remember), not just using a knife on your skin but actually cutting chunks out almost an inch wide in patterns. Really made me feel ill!

Diversity is what makes us all unique, what people want to do to themselves is upto them at the end of the day. I have friends who are into branding and scarification and they are some of the most enlightened people I have ever met unlike the bigoted, narrow minded morons whom seem to make up the majority of people in this sad, pathetic excuse of a country that we live in these days.

Or different to tribal marking in Africa? They are all related. Just because you personally wouldn't do it, doesn't mean they are strange or weird.

Joedetic Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 I actually had my lip pierced in august (labret stud) and it was interesting to see how quickly people's attitudes change to you just because you have a piercing. Apparently, if you have a piercing you must be some kind of thug. Personally, scarification and some of the more body extreme modifications aren't for me but it doesn't mean that i think theyr'e wrong or sick etc etc. I have a job interview at M&S for some temp work during uni later today. It should be interesting to see what they make of it seeing as their policy actually allows descreet facial piercing.

I'm not going to judge or think less of anyone if they've had that done - although I don't like anything done to excess particularly excessive tattoos.
