fairm010 Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Hi @nickbro, My hap (v9.7) install has been running perfectly for a while now but recently I migrated my SQL server to my new ESXi host and HAP seems to have ground to a halt. The login page loads quickly but anything after that at all takes an age! It takes around 1 minute to open the helpdesk. My IIS server and SQL server are on different VM's with 8 processors each and 8GB RAM each. Please help, its driving people nuts! Matt
nickbro Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Sounds like it's having issues connecting to the SQL database quickly, if you switch the provider to XML for the tracker, see what happens then, if it speeds up then the issue is SQL related not HAP+
fairm010 Posted May 23, 2014 Author Posted May 23, 2014 Ive switched to XML and stopped the SQL server for good measure. I can login to HAP no problem but when I click on My Files or Helpdesk it just sits with the spinning circle. It loads whatever I clicked after 1 - 2 mins.
fairm010 Posted May 23, 2014 Author Posted May 23, 2014 Once its loaded one thing, my files for example, the rest of the site reacts as promptly as it should.
nickbro Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Ok, sounds like it's taking its time caching things, which isn't a good sign. Have you tried upgrading to v10?
fairm010 Posted May 23, 2014 Author Posted May 23, 2014 Not yet. My plan was to copy the live site and upgrade that. Shall I upgrade now? I'm sure ive asked before but whats the easiest and least disruptive way of doing that? Its half term next week so needs to be good for then!
