I've had a search around, but i've not found anything relating to this: either there's no topic on it or i've not used the magic words!!

Does anyone here display a copy of their AUP on their workstations? Currently at my school a copy of the AUP is shown (i think a past tech made an exe with an accept button) however the pupils don't have to click accept- And they believe that if they don't click accept we can't see what they're doing (always a good laugh when they tell me that)

My university used to display a message just after you hit ctrl+alt+del before you login- Does anyone know how to do this? I think this would be the most effective method

Thanks guys :)

At one school, we setup a rule on a WebMarshal webfilter to display the AUP before students can use the Internet. This displays once each day with a link to a printable version if required.

Many of the kids have gotten used to it (only been setup recently) but there are still some that ask us "why have you blocked the Internet?" :D

We use a utility which originally came from a download from Didcot Girls School and free to use. It has an I agree button and I disagree, if they press I disagree it logs the user off the system. You can place your own computer use policy in the rtf file that you deploy through an msi.

A copy can be downloaded from:

Has anyone got an aup summary I could 'borrow' - just been playing around with putting our aup in the login message box and as it only allows 2048 characters (512 characters per line) we're a bit stuffed as I've just word counted our current aup and at +25k words it's a tad on the large side ;-)
