Team Cycle Route Planning

Hi All

 

Had a request for a team cycling route/ progress tracker... Bit of background

 

Basically we have a few staff and students cycling part of the first stage of the Tour de France

 

So the idea is to have some website that the students and staff can use to track their progress - I thought something like mapmytracks.

 

All of the users will have a 3G device so will be able to have an 'app' tracking them

 

Anyone offer up a suggestion

Viewranger, I use this for all my route planning and recording. The App is available iOS, Android or Kindle and is backed up by an online service to plan, store and share routes. It has a "buddy" feature so you can track the location of someone else (needs 3G / WiFi to work - not so good in the Highlands ).

 

The App is free and you pay for just the maps you need, so you can buy just what you want for the route and, if it's linear, you don't have hundreds of square kilometers that you don't need.

My school used MapMyRide and it was really good except of course when you go into a black-spot Bike Maps, Cycling Workout, Biking Routes | MapMyRide
