[sims] Sims Discover Net Score - behaviour and achievement

Hi

 

I am trying to create a graph and then dynamic group within Sims discover for our behaviour team, they would to identify and pupils with a negative net conduct score, that is the score when you subtract the number of behaviour points from the number of achievements points.

 

I can obvioulsy create a graph of the pupils with a certain amount of behaviours, or achievements, however if I create a dynamic group for for instance the group of pupils with 51+ behaviour concerns this group will only ever increase as no pupil will lose concerns!

You can create a number of dynamic groups with ranges of points. That way you get notifications for certain thresholds. From summer you will also be able to combine a number of dynamic groups into a single one as well.

you'll have to set your limits through the admin utility - but it will only do your achievement/behaviour seperately - not a net score.

 

I have excel tables/pivot tables set up to give me net scores, but it's a long winded pain in the... and I only use that for form tutors to know their forms on a weekly basis.

 

if you're behaviour team is looking for something quick, just design a standard report, based on student, include whatever student info you want, add the student conduct information, add the total conduct points (so that staff can see a number), and then filter that sub report by students who have a total conduct point less than 0.

Thanks for that - it's exactly what I thought - it's a shame we can't do 'conduct' in discover, as it would be nice to split into pastoral groups etc.

 

I've got the behaviour team using a report on each pupil and then using pivot tables and pivot charts , but as you said - it's a bit messy, compared to discover!

 

Maybe it'll come in an update
