Hi,

I would like some recommendations as to software that will sync two directory pairs between a file server and a NAS and will then monitor for changes and sync those changes please.

I am after a file level backup basically as a "if all else fails" file restore.

Thanks in advance.

Can you not use DFS replication and shadowcopy? That's what we use for our daily backup. DFS replicates our data to a remote NAS and shadowcopy runs at midnight and stores changes for up to 30 days.

Thanks for the suggestions. I was feeling lazy and was after something more point and click.. guess I'll have to get some scripts on the go.

Not sure I can use DFS for this scenario.

I've still got SyncToy from Microsoft running at home; no idea how robust it is for backup-grade reliability, but it's still working.

Have used the older version of this (Super Flexible File Synchronizer) and it was awesome. I did try free programs before this but found this to be well worth the money.

Looks interesting.. might give the trial a whirl. Thanks.
