liveman2 Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Hi, I need a bootable USB which can mass partition about 350 laptops. I have tried using the WAIK to create a bootable PE image, but it keeps crashing out when unmounting the image using DISM. Are there any free/alternative options you can recommend? Thanks.

Arthur Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 I have tried using the WAIK to create a bootable PE image, but it keeps crashing out when unmounting the image using DISM. You should try the latest Windows ADK for Windows 8.1 (it also works on Windows 7). The WAIK is old.
computer_expert Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 (edited) You could use MDT (using the MDT Media bit): Deploying Windows 8.1 from a USB Stick - How To Install | TechNet The steps are pretty much the same for windows 7 too Edited March 27, 2014 by computer_expert
liveman2 Posted April 3, 2014 Author Posted April 3, 2014 Hi All, cheers for the help. Managed to solve this one using Diskpart and PE. Seems the compiler was just having an error which I managed to fix.
