Acer PD523PD DLP Projector Problem

Afternoon all,

 

Having a problem with a projector that maybe one of you could help with.

 

We have an Acer PD523PD that currently works for around 10 minutes then the image disappears. First thought when it was reported was that it was over heating, but on inspection and watching what happens this doesn't appear to be the case. The projector works fine then the screen will go blank. When looking at the projector the lamp turns off, but the buttons seem to function i.e. you can turn it off properly by clicking the power button twice.

 

Any ideas on what this could be?

Dodgy contact inside with the lamp which breaks contact when the thing has warmed up sufficiently? I'd try taking the lamp out and reseating it, if you haven't already

Thanks @Bananas, i will try that when I'm next at the school, couldn't get it down Tuesday as the class room was in use all day.

Just wanted to say that this worked a treat, done it this morning when I was back on site and all working fine now. Thanks for the help!
