Classroom Headphone Storage

Hi Apologies if this is a re-post, I couldn't spot anything on the forums

 

I'm looking for some advice on storing Headphones in a classroom, currently we have them all stored in cardboard boxes - doesn't look great and tends to lead to a lot of damage / vandalism

 

Hooks behind the PC's are not a solution as around 40% of the PC's face windows.

 

Any ideas? (secondary school)

I always envisage some kind of arm that screws in to the vesa mount on a monitor and then comes out to the side in order to give you somewhere to hang them as a lot of places put them over the screens and that just smears ear grease all over them.

 

If you had a double arm for each monitor it would look like a pair of horns so you could call the product headphone horns, I want royalties if anyone makes this idea and sells it

We've now stopped buying headphones for ICT Rooms. If the teachers want them it comes out of their department spend.

 

Strangely they are now being looked after. We did purchase a class set of clear plastic boxes for them. Each is numbered to go with the number on the headphones. They are then booked in and out by the teacher. It is then reasonably easy to trace back any damage / vandalism.

 

Other rooms do hang the headphones over the screen.

Ha, ha, you said 'ear grease'.

Sorry, that just made me laugh!

That's waht they do here - I didn't like it at first but if everyone does it, then at least it does keep the headphones ready to use and reduces the amount of tangled cables - especially if you cable tie and hot glue them to the PC! Seriously, I've had to resort to hot glueing the plugs in to stop them being moved...
