Disease Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 I want to make some of the my hyper-v resources available on my admin network, the server has 4 nics available 1 of witch is tied to my curriculum virtual network. Am I right in thinking I just connect up a spare nic create an admin virtual network and then just point my admin VM's to that virtual network? Thanks

localzuk Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 The host itself (so things like Windows update on the host) will go by the IP address of the server it has to connect to. If both networks can service the task, you should set up a static routing rule of your own, to determine which network to use. The guests will use whichever card you assign to them on the virtual switch.
AceDaz Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 If you have Layer 2 switches that support VLANs and your server supports VLAN tagging then you could assign the Admin VMs NICs to tag on the Admin network. I have done this with mine
