machin05 Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 We're about to purchase a Kensington Sync and Charge cabinet for our Toshiba Android tablets, but we need some USB cables for it. Looking at the pictures here - Kensington Charge and Sync Cabinet (K67771EU) - www.misco.co.uk - it looks like we need a left-angled USB A to Micro-B USB2.0 lead. Can we find one anywhere??? Can we boat! This is as close as we have found USB 2.0 A Male Plug To Micro B Jack Cable Adapter Left Angled 20cm | eBay, but the photos are inconclusive and the description doesn't specify which end is left angled. And besides that, order from foreign ebay sellers isn't something we can do easily in school. Any ideas, good folk?
kearton Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Can you something direct from Kensington? e.g that cabinet lists these as accessories (but they're for iPads) Kensington - Security - Tablet Security - Secure Charge & Sync Cabinets - Charge & Sync Cable, USB to 30-pin
machin05 Posted March 21, 2014 Author Posted March 21, 2014 Just iPod and Lightening cables from what I can see.
gumbygaz Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 (edited) Anything on here that would do? angle usb **edit** hummm seems most of the cables are out of stock! doh! Or go for something like this, and use the normal cable supplied with the tablets? Edited March 21, 2014 by gumbygaz
machin05 Posted March 21, 2014 Author Posted March 21, 2014 Anything on here that would do? angle usb **edit** hummm seems most of the cables are out of stock! doh! No, all of those have the micro-b end angled. We actually need the USB-A end at an angle. Or go for something like this, and use the normal cable supplied with the tablets? Cheers for the suggestion, not a bad idea but we wanted to avoid adapters if possible just to keep things neat and avoid weak points that maybe susceptible to damage. It will be teaching staff unplugging and plugging them back in, after all

Seems America has the solution A to Micro B - Right Angle to Right Angle but that's not much use... Sorry!

gumbygaz Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 My fault...wrong link, not enough tea been drunk this morning! They do have left to left USB Cables - A to Micro B
machin05 Posted March 21, 2014 Author Posted March 21, 2014 My fault...wrong link, not enough tea been drunk this morning! They do have left to left USB Cables - A to Micro B Yeah I know mate, I was just poking ya! Cheers dude. Doesn't seem to be something readily available in the UK for some reason??? Our other option is to get one of these HP Multi-Tablet Charging Cabinet (H4W98AA) - www.misco.co.uk as it uses the existing chargers plugged in round the back.
X-13 Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 USB 2.0 A to Micro-B Not sure how legit these guys are, but they have them. [it looks like it'd be better with both ends angled.] On a related note: Anyone know where I can get a 4 pole 3.5mm male to 3 pole 2.5mm male audio cable? Basically the Turtle beach PS4 chat cable, but actually available and not £14. [it's on Amazon for £13.90] Le EDIT: Jesus... I just saw their shipping costs...

yugo Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 (edited) I ended up using the original iPad cables with ours. I used an adhesive cable clip to secure the cable at the top of each slot, with a cable tie behind to stop it being pulled out easily and fed the remaining cable into the slot. Can get messy sometimes but it saved buying 100 new cables. Edited March 21, 2014 by yugo 1

Yep, CPC PSG03748 - PRO SIGNAL - 3.5MM TO 2.5MM 4P JACK LEAD, 1 | CPC Awaiting Delivery but they do them and cheap. Free delivery on online orders too. EDIT: Sorry just read OP again properly! 4 pole to 3 pole is going to be tricky I reckon. If you know the wiring scheme, buy one of those cables from CPC plus a 3 pole 2.5mm jack and wire it up yourself? Edited March 21, 2014 by crc-ict
