mwd Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Hi We have just moved our KMS server from 2008 to 2012 R2 to allow activation of 2012 R2, Windows 8 etc. When it came to Office 2013 all seemed straight forward and appears to be working apart from when in VAMT the Genuine Status has not available next to it. Going in to office on the machine it says activated. Just concerned I deploy office and the find out down the line loads of people ringing up saying its not working. If I do a test windows 8.1 and office 2013 and connect to the AD it shows as genuine. I know this is probably done via the ad based activation. We have Office 2010 Key on the KMS as well and that works ok shows licensed and genuine status genuine. So little puzzled Any ideas? Thanks Folks
3s-gtech Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Are you using VAMT 3? The old V2 doesn't work with Office 2013 (nor 8.1 I believe). Do you get an error if you try to get Current Status? You can host KMS for them on 2008 R2 though, doesn't require 2012 R2.
mwd Posted March 18, 2014 Author Posted March 18, 2014 (edited) Yep using VMAT 3. No errors when getting current status. We would have needed to upgrade them from 2008 to 2008 r2 anyway and add a hotfix so it just seemed sensible to go to 2012 R2. Edited March 18, 2014 by mwd
mwd Posted March 19, 2014 Author Posted March 19, 2014 When i do ospp.vbs /dstatus I get license status ---LICENSED--- . Its probably nothing to worry about knowing microsoft its probably going to be a hotfix we find by chance.

Is your VLSC subscription all running properly, and are the proxy/connection settings on the server okay so that it can check in? Unlikely, but possible it's server side - e.g. it can't contact MS through a firewall perhaps?
mwd Posted March 19, 2014 Author Posted March 19, 2014 if it was any of those suggestions i would expect nothing to be registered as Genuine in the status. No Proxy here and firewall is turned off on servers. Its only office 2013 that i get the not available status. All windows clients/servers are connecting and office 2010, all get the Genuine status.
Firefox Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 you mentioned you're using VAMT 3, is it version 3.1 of the product? we had loads of issues with version 3 ourselves
mwd Posted April 1, 2014 Author Posted April 1, 2014 (edited) We are running VMAT 3.1 i think comes up as version 6.3.9600.0. Management console comes up as 3.0 version 6.3 (Build 9600) Thanks Edited April 1, 2014 by mwd Wrong Info
mwd Posted April 3, 2014 Author Posted April 3, 2014 Well Microsoft couldn't help really. Also not much use from technet forums either. Might just leave it and see what happens. Its out there now so it can be ones of the mystery things where eventually someone else will have the issue find my posts and no one has the answer lol.
Firefox Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Just started our Office 2013 activation, and exactly the same issue....I guess it's a "feature" we'll have to live with
mwd Posted April 3, 2014 Author Posted April 3, 2014 Strange isn't it. Are you running 2012 R2 as well! when you do slmgr.vbs /dlv 2e28138a-847f-42bc-9752-61b03fff33cd what do you get for the app rearm count: and SKU rearm count: Thanks
Firefox Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 We're running it from a Windows 2008 R2 server. But we are successfully licensing 2012 R2 and 8.1 from it. Re-arm count 4 Current Count 10
kuvinod Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 Hi, Trying to see if there is an answer to my similar issue. I have a KMS setup on Server 2012 R2 for Windows 7, Office 2010, 2013 and 2016 products. When i run the following command Cscript.exe slmgr.vbs /dlv 98ebfe73-2084-4c97-932c-c0cd1643bea7, i get the Remaining App rearm count as -1 and SKU rearm count as-1. Also when i try to activate the Office on my clients, it says success. But on the KMS host it says the requests with License status Initial grace period as 12. Not sure why this is happening. Also i used the VAMT 3.0 tool to manually activate the grace period. I can see them it gets done but the Genuine status shows as "Not Available" Can someone please help me. I am really struck Regards - Vin
TIOAOA Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Anyone help point me in the right direction with regards to getting Office 2013 licenced from a 2008R2 KMS server. KMS will authenticate on Win7 installs no problem. I've installed the patch and office keys to the 2008 KMS server but its not licencing office. All my searching points me at fixes for Win7 and not office issues.
Joanne Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 I had to run the following in an elevated command prompt: cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15 cscript ospp.vbs /act To get my Office 2013 to activate against KMS... 1
Oaktech Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 I had to run the following in an elevated command prompt: cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15 cscript ospp.vbs /act To get my Office 2013 to activate against KMS... Mine just stopped authenticating one day, I put that code in a startup script for a couple of months and now I've taken it out and everything works fine on it's own?
