What are my options from consumer 8.1 to MAK 8.1 Pro? Wipe and start again? Why oh why does the proxy server keep dropping out for everything? Wasn't this fixed in 8.1? Grrrrrr
FN-GM Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Think it is wipe and start again. I would do that anyway to get rid of all the pre-installed rubbish. Can't comment on proxy settings, ours is transparent and works a treat with Windows 8.1.

I've only had two proxy issues here, one to do with SPDY which only affects a few (albeit popular) sites, and one very intermittent one where WPAD isn't loaded correctly (that really does affect everything). CHR1S Posted March 18, 2014 Author Posted March 18, 2014 Dropbox sync - loses proxy connection, chrome - the same, windows update - fails (same time as others drop out) Completely random too... Ive tried the netsh winhttp>import proxy source=ie and am awaiting the next drop out if any.
CHR1S Posted March 18, 2014 Author Posted March 18, 2014 Didn't work - Chrome gives the error - Error code: ERR_PROXY_CONNECTION_FAILED Windows network diagnosis reports - The default gateway is not available All windows 7 laptops are working fine, just my new Win 8 laptop. Once the wireless connection is reset it works again.

jamin100 Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Yeh my work machine has been 8.1 since before Xmas and Ive not had any troubles. Proxy will be the same as yours and I use it at home with the proxy of without issue 1
