We just haven't got room for 4 full backups per month at the moment but every datastore has a full backup once a month, I guess it's belt and braces but if Veeam say there is little point in doing that in v8 ( is that down to there being less chances of corruption) then will look again.

Currently the Veeam Backup volume is at 26TB for us (96VM's), but we are limited to 30TB because of the block size used when the volume was created. Something we will change when 2nd stage of storage is complete.

There is no need to do multiple full backups in veeam. This isn't backupexec ;)

I assume from that you don't schedule full backups then and haven't had an issue? I know it's what Veeam say now, but it's always nice to get feedback from someone who uses it like that :)

The only problem I've found with veeam and the use of synthetic full backups is they take twice as long to complete as a bog standard full backup, although I've not tried the forever forward yet.

Multiple maybe not, but surely you still do 1-2 to ensure datas valid every now and then? Or are you relying on the fact that every incremental brings across good data? Even though it's not BackUp exec that seems tad risky as such :s
