Hi

does anyone know how a international school goes about getting a ERA license,

We are registered with/accredited in the UK.

You can't, and even if you could it wouldn't be any use to you.

Despite your UK registration you are bound by the copyright laws of the country your school is in (from your profile this appears to be Thailand), not UK copyright law. The ERA licence is based on provisions in Section 35 of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. This act doesn't apply overseas, so the ERA is not a valid licence in any jurisdiction other than the UK. I'm not familiar with copyright legislation abroad so I don't know if there is any similar scheme you need to be a part of.

Even UK schools that have an ERA licence are not permitted to provide recordings to distance learners overseas, so it wouldn't even help if you had a UK base.
