fromtheinternet Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 A few things: - Try the RPi again, but install the latest OpenElec beta with XBMC Gotham. See if that picks up DVBViewer. - See if there's an alternative backend? There are plugins that let you use Windows Media Centre as a backend nowadays. If you're willing to use Linux, check out TVHeadend. I don't know if it's possible to install in a virtual machine and have the DVB card run in passthrough, though. - AMD's AM1 platform is going to appear shortly. That's a motherboard and user-replaceable CPU for very cheap (the Sempron model will be about £30...). They're meant to be released in early April.
zag Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 NUC + Openelec + TVheadend + Harmony Smart remote is about the most perfect setup you can get.
bon_clay Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 (edited) I don't know it's really strange t will play the sound although won't show the video. I'm guessing its a codec problem but can't find a single thing online to see how to make it work. Did you purchase the MPEG-2 and VC-1 license for the raspberry pi as these might be needed to get video playback working. If you have a spare 2.5" HDD you could get this Intel Nuc DN2820FYKH - Tranquil PC Limited Store just needs some DDR3L SODIMM 1.35V. Edited March 12, 2014 by bon_clay
jaminben Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 NUC + Openelec + TVheadend + Harmony Smart remote is about the most perfect setup you can get. Add Deluge & Flexget to that and then you'd have the most perfect setup
MrKJLS Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 The Acer Revo's still seem to go for more than £100 on ebay My brothers phone which has XBMC on it plays DVBviewer perfectly fine problem being no remote control support !! You can get the XBMC Android/iPhone Remote app. I think there is a official one for android.
Arthur Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 I think there is a official one for Android. There is, but it's not as good as Yatse. 1
MrKJLS Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 There is, but it's not as good as Yatse. Ahhh, it looks a lot better than the official one
jaminben Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 There is, but it's not as good as Yatse. Thanks for this.... so much better than the official.
