ConradJones Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 I'm trying to transfer about 1.5TB from an NTFS disk to an EXT4 disk and the transfer is slow. The NTFS disk is slow full stop.. I presume I'm using NTFS-3G, (the OS is Linux MINT 15) I really need to speed this up, it did about 100gb in 5/6 hours........ I can't find the kernel version of NTFS-3G. I wouldn't mind paying for it.......... Any other options......... Tweaks etc.
psydii Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Is attaching the disk to a windows pc and FTP the file over out of the question?
Arthur Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 I wouldn't mind paying for it On OS X, Paragon's NTFS driver is faster than NTFS-3G, so it might be worth trying on Linux? www.paragon-software.com/home/ntfs-linux-professional/
ConradJones Posted March 10, 2014 Author Posted March 10, 2014 I installed paragons free one. it seems faster..
