Hi,

I am looking for a remote access solution that allows access into our network to get to file shares and SIMS. I've tried the LogMeIn's and free TeamViewer software but to me they are clunky and require the users' PC to always be on.

Installed Remote Desktop Services and this entered me into a licensing nightmare.

If anyone has any experience in a solid solution, please let me know.

Thanks

Ellis

Home access Plus for file shares etc. If you'd like to negotiate the nightmare, then you can use remoteapps to push out SIMS as an rdp to the end user, shortcut provided on HAP. Works well.

We use a piece of software called RemoteSpark - Remote Spark - it requires Java on one host web server but not on any others or the client. It basically uses Java to convert an RDP session into an HTML5 remote desktop.

It's well priced and the support is ace. Perhaps not quite as snappy as the old ActiveX RDP setup (or native RDP) but it works on any modern browser on any modern OS - so our OS X and iOS/Android users are happy.

We have successfully used this to connect to SIMS using an IPAD. Works well.
