intrigue Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 Does anyone know any good cheap (FREE?) software that will do a good hardware and software audit for all the machines here. I am trying to build up a good list and would either like to deploy it via GP or logon script or if possible have something that doesn't need a client and just scans the network although i prefer the programs that have a client that will monitor changes etc. Thanks Matt
fooby Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 Spiceworks seems to be pretty amazing so far http://www.spiceworks.com/ fooby p.s does loads more too -- and its free!
richard.thomas Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 I've been using SpiceWorks for awhile now. Does the job very well. As fooby said, it's quite powerful
chalkwellstu Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 i have tried spiceworks and OCS. both are good but spiceworks is very simple to install and has tons of features. you can run reports from it showing hardware and software.

PEO Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 I'm using OCS inventory and it uses very little bandwidth. I personally thinks its better than spice works, as far as inventory goes.
