X-13 Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 One of our printers is being a butt. It'll stop printing properly, the demo page varying degrees of bad, but it isn't consistent. In a multiple page document, one page will be fine but the next one will be squashed. Colour [demo] page: Text only [page 1]: This is supposed to look similar to page 2. Text only [page 2]: These were all done from the printer menu itself, so it isn't a case of a dodgy cable [as I've seen suggested other places] I've tried recalibrating but it doesn't help.
SHimmer45 Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 paper pick up/clutching system slipping. the iffy colour output can be a sign of a faulty/worn photoconductor on the colour toner
X-13 Posted February 26, 2014 Author Posted February 26, 2014 paper pick up/clutching system slipping. I would have thought that would make the output shift down the page, instead of compressing it into the middle. [it's ALWAYS the middle...]

X-13 Posted February 26, 2014 Author Posted February 26, 2014 Depends where / when its slipping on the cycle round I'd guess maybe? hmm... Looks like it's time for a printer autopsy.
FishCustard Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 hmm... Looks like it's time for a printer autopsy. Those are always great fun. I've got one with some sticky label stuck to a paper roller at the moment - not sure exactly how I'm going to get the thing apart to remove it...
