Running a successful site is one thing, but trawling though the email on a daily basis is something else. I often get the weird and wonderful mailings on the various accounts I monitor, but this one came in on the feedback account and I think must be to the wrong person, organisation or planet!

Message: I worked out how to format hdb with 3 partitons.

I installed Suse Linux.

I'm online and have a working printer.

Now, I don't get it! I've been messing with Linux for a couple of hours. How do you install stuff from cd to my hdb2 or should software go in to hdb1?

All the help pages say type "$ ***** then $ ***** then $ *****" but where do you type these words (what ever they are, I've forgotten due to frustration)? There was something about tbz being installed/expanded into the folder that I had downloaded the package from (on one help site), but the software is on cd so that will fail.

How do you download stuff (updates)?

I feel too stunned to answer.

Call to say.......

"The photocopier wont copy, can you take a look?" - you know that cute female thingy voice they do?

I can smell burnt plastic

No paper jams anywhere

No plastic on the glass

Photocopier reports no problems

No tea etc, etc spillages.

Plugged in, lights on - good to go.

"I just put more paper in, because it had run out" was the answer to my question.

You will never guess...............................
