featured_spectre Posted March 10, 2014 Author Posted March 10, 2014 isn't the beta is closed now until the game release?
jaminben Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Ah, that would just be my luck... it just allowed me to sign up as well
Garacesh Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 isn't the beta is closed now until the game release? I meant for those that continue playing. I'm still toying with the idea. Given we'll all likely have to start new characters, we could get communal levelling going on.
featured_spectre Posted March 10, 2014 Author Posted March 10, 2014 The game wont allow beta characters to continue (you dont know how many times I got annoyed at having to repeat the prison at the beginning of the game on EVERY beta test!!!)
Garacesh Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Never get emotionally invested in Beta characters. You always lose them.
featured_spectre Posted March 10, 2014 Author Posted March 10, 2014 (edited) I know, but I maxed out the characters a few times. It was easily done in the beta as killing anything and everything got you XP (even the tiny little mudcrabs!) Plus at level 50 (max level) you get master dungeons, which are, well, painfully fun! featured_spectre Posted March 11, 2014 Author Posted March 11, 2014 For anyone interested, the full size of the game is expected to be around 60GB (before any patches, or DLC)
Sunnyknight Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 60gb... like fudging bf4 all over again... 1 - 2 hr dl. As for group levelling.... I see that failing. Youd need to all stay on the same quests... areas etc etc. If anyone solos at anytime.... game over as such. Did it in wow and gw2 though with a nice social group. All logged at the same-ish time and levelled together. Ended up being a fearless guild in pvp / wvw. So yeah... would need a committed group to do that imo
Garacesh Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Eventually it would fracture as people with more time played, or people with less didn't, but to kick-start off our new characters it wouldn't be too bad. Get an EduGuild going lol
Sunnyknight Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 We'd be 10 strong!!!! Against the hordes of foreigner guilds lol
featured_spectre Posted March 11, 2014 Author Posted March 11, 2014 I wouldn't do it for any period of time, I can't commit to such an endeavour.
bushby Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Guild motto: is it on the help desk?/ blame sunnyknight
featured_spectre Posted March 12, 2014 Author Posted March 12, 2014 no...should be..."Have you tried switching it off and on again?"
Sunnyknight Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Guild motto: is it on the help desk?/ blame sunnyknight *Kicks Bushby out of the guild* How dare you! xD *Applauds Neph*
featured_spectre Posted March 12, 2014 Author Posted March 12, 2014 I plan to hopefully have a couple of characters, which can be in the guild. One I will max up with smithing as an imperial, so he can create some awesome armour, and another as a mage type deal to enchant it to high heaven, then another as a fighter who will wear it!
Garacesh Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Not played an amazing deal of it, thinking I'm going to really hammer it this weekend. Also going to give recording it another bash, since last time I fudged up the settings before recording my first impression review and it was bad quality and poorly synced sound. (Serves me right for not doing a test recording first!)
featured_spectre Posted March 12, 2014 Author Posted March 12, 2014 They're allowing everyone to play as an imperial this weekend, I can see it being over run to be honest. lol But good thing really, I want to be an imperial to be able to explore everywhere on the map and have no affilation until as late as possible
Garacesh Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 I like elves, personally. Kind of irritating you're forced into a.. faction? alliance? thing?.. depending on your race, but I'm hoping that actually has no basis on play and it's just about where your race comes from or something (I'm not amazingly well-versed in Elder Scrolls lore)
featured_spectre Posted March 12, 2014 Author Posted March 12, 2014 When you are in the faction, you are limited too your travels. You can venture into other territory, but prepare to be ganked!
featured_spectre Posted March 12, 2014 Author Posted March 12, 2014 Atleast as an imperial you have some impunity and can go across the map in its entirety with a degree of protection, because you can freely explore and nobody knows the faction you're in.
Garacesh Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 So you're telling me the factions (whatever they're called) races are based on result in racially-motivated PvP? To be clear, above the race symbols during character creation is some kind of faction/alliance symbol denoting the races allegiance. The ones on the left and the right have three races in them, the middle one has four. That's what I'm on about.
arwen Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Well @mrjonesybop and myself will be playing it over the weekend for a while. Would be interesting in grouping up for group events and such if anyone will be around? Playing on the Europe server for a change, mostly likely as Khajiits :-)
