chrbb Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 Friend at work asked my opinion on what Ram to get to upgrade new pc she'd bought - with 1GB ram (2 x 512) which had a quarter of it used by onboard graphics so wasn't running vista very well! I said i thought that DDr2 had to run in matched pairs, but the man at the shop said that one stick of 1gb will do in addition the 2 that she's already got. This works but does it mean that the ram won't be running dual channel?

contink Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Given that vista is going to be more and more memory intensive than it has any right to be (IMHO!) I'd go with a couple of 1Gb sticks rather than 512's... That way you won't be chucking away your 512's in a years time.
