hardtailstar Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Is there any way we could have an Android forum as there seems to be more and more Android related threads. Just an idea.
hardtailstar Posted February 10, 2014 Author Posted February 10, 2014 Im a big Android fan so it would be nice to speak to others in threads in that forum. Especially as there's new releases coming up.
Little-Miss Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Maybe if you ask @ZeroHour really nicely... 1
hardtailstar Posted February 10, 2014 Author Posted February 10, 2014 @ZeroHour Pretty please could we have an Android forum? Thank you ever so much
FN-GM Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Then we would have to create an iOS forum as well...
sparkeh Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Then we would have to create an iOS forum as well... Most people just use the Mac forum.
Koldov Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 We have 15 FUSION android tablets that are mainly used for children's reward time. The Head is keen on getting more tablet type devices and getting them into classrooms for use in T&L, but I am not keen on iPads so we will probably be getting more android tablets. It would be nice to have somewhere dedicated that I can ask the bazillion questions I am bound to have about managing them! Kol.
Domino Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Netbooks, PDA and Phones <- use the 'android' tag? 1
hardtailstar Posted February 11, 2014 Author Posted February 11, 2014 Netbooks, PDA and Phones <- use the 'android' tag? Thats not really helpful if its not about Netbooks, PDAs and phones.
featured_spectre Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 what android device do you have that doesn't fall in that category?
Koldov Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 It does also mention this... 'Post all your iPad, Windows RT, tablet, netbook and phone questions here.' I have previously used that forum, with the prefix thanks @Domino, maybe just that android covers so many devices, unlike the offering of an iOS forum? Kol.
hardtailstar Posted February 11, 2014 Author Posted February 11, 2014 what android device do you have that doesn't fall in that category? I was thinking more of development.
Koldov Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 I was thinking more of development. Did not see that coming from OP! Ignore my post... Kol.
Domino Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 I was thinking more of development. Could it not go in the coding forum then?
hardtailstar Posted February 11, 2014 Author Posted February 11, 2014 Could it not go in the coding forum then? possibly, just was thinking of ease for the forum having all Android in one place.
FN-GM Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Most people just use the Mac forum. An iPad isn't a Mac though. They are not the same thing.
Tesla Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Wouldn't the netbooks, pdas (who says that anymore?), and phones section of been created before the advent of numerous device types for each? ie ChromeBooks, Androids, iOS, Blackberry (lol) I personally think that section may be too vague (and possibly outdated *I'm looking at PDA's here*) for all the various device types that are around now.
sparkeh Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 An iPad isn't a Mac though. They are not the same thing. Didn't say they were.
hardtailstar Posted February 11, 2014 Author Posted February 11, 2014 Maybe some forums should have a change of names....
FN-GM Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Didn't say they were. Nobody is saying you did
sparkeh Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Nobody is saying you did Well...good then I do think that having separate forums would make them more navigable. 1
