Repairing student home machines

Someone earlier said they had a similar problem about staff having got hold of there personal mobile number.

 

Currently the office have my number and today i had about 50 calls from them, all diverted calls from the staff, now i am getting pretty annoyed as they have freely handed my number out and anyone seems to think they can ring me whenever they like.

 

What ready annoyed me, was the receptionist gave me a dirty look and said "dont you answer your phone", you can guess i was fuming and prob know what i wanted to say back to her.

 

Does anyone know what i can do about this?

Change your number and don't give it to the office and inform SLT why then tell them to provide a mobile phone for you at school. Done it here.

I think i will do that, i stopped answering them after the first 15 calls. i though they would give up calling me.

Get the school to provide you with a mobile and divert that to your personal one (or vice versa) so that you don't have to carry two.

 

Check the tax implications of being given a phone though - they used to be taxable assets, I know they're not any more, but I'm sure there are still some complications associated with using school mobiles for personal calls, or is that if you bill the school for calls off your mobile? I forget now, but it would be worth checking.

 

Here, the receptionist and bursar have my number but are under very strict instructions not to give it out. They generally deny even having it, although on one occasion the bursar did call me on behalf of someone else, but then he did the dialling so the teacher in question never saw my number.

I can find no reference to a threshold for "hobby" earnings if you are making money then it is taxable.

 

Just because it may seem a hobby to you doesn't mean it's viewed as that by HMRC.
