TheGoodGuy Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Just wondered if you guys had any recommendations for software to monitor the ink levels/rollers/transfer belts of all the printers in the school. Something where you can set your own custom alerts.
tmcd35 Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Hands down - Papercut NG. Not sure if it does rollers and transfers, atleast not by default. No doubt some enterprising coder has written scripts for various makes/models. 2
pete Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Papercut will do it, as will Nagios or Observium or most network monitoring apps (Spiceworks does too, I assume). Note that Observium expects you to have DNS entries for the kit you're monitoring (either in a local hosts file or on your DNS servers). See attached screenshots. 1
sparkeh Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 PaperCut and Spiceworks both do a grand job of this. 1
TheGoodGuy Posted January 31, 2014 Author Posted January 31, 2014 Spiceworks looks to be more within our budget. I will look into it. Thanks for the tips all.
fairm010 Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 I use spiceworks to once a day email the person in charge of ordering about ink levels.
