[ipad] iPad Data Recovery

Is there a program for getting into the actual disk and recovering software on an iPad that anyone would recommend here ?

 

I ask as we have a member of our SMT who had locally saved notes which have now disappeared on the device as a result of an upgrade and rebuild without saving them.

 

I have tried the Dr. Fone iOS data recovery and notes are not in there for the device.

 

Any help is appreciated here.

Was there any backups made before the upgrade was done as I believe ( not 100% sure ) that you could use SQL Lite or something of that nature to read text messages / notes etc from backups that iTunes has already made ?

How to recover your iPad or iPhone notes from your Mac

 

A few links found via google, not sure how much help / use they are

 

Failing that if its a mac computer you can use the connect to / browse to folder to mount the storage area of the ipad / iphone

 

May be able to use device manager -> disk management to do something similar

 

Apps etc if the iPad was connected to the computer ( whether mac or windows ) that they use it with ( presumably ) then it should make a copy / backup of the apps inside the apps directory which I believe is generally within the iTunes directory --> Apps or Applications , I think for my iPhone it places them in Mobile Applications.

Notes were turned off in the backing up of this device, because it was a shared account behind it all and we didn't want any individual doing potentially confidential stuff and getting it shared via icloud

 

I get the feeling their on the devices, but this really isnt helped by the fact that its apple and they deliberately try and obfuscate accessing this device normally imo

 

I have run Dr Fone on the device and its turned up nothing in the backup on the notes.

 

None of these programs seem to search the storage on the device, only the OS as far as I can see because of this, unless these notes have been securely wiped.

Sorry to zombie a thread, but I'd just like to say that I recently had to recover data from a deleted account that hadn't been syncing for a year. Dr Fone worked as well as any data recovery tool I have seen run against a disc that remained in active use for several days after the incident.

 

That is to say, if the device is not full, and not in heavy use, and the user values the data sufficiently, DR Fone is worth a try.

 

Judging by the fragments it was able to retrieve, it does operate at the 'disk image level' rather than simply trawling the file system.

 

We got most of the missing data back.

 

For those from the future looking for help:

I suspect that if Dr Fone can't find it, then it's not there to be found.

If the teacher was signed in to iCloud on the iPad, and using the notes app from there then you can get to these via Cloud as they are synced in the background to the account, no need for complex data recovery software.

 

Just ask the teacher to sign into iCloud on a PC at
