Exporting GPO's from one OU to other OU in another domain.

Can this done?, ie; if i need to go to another school to set up a domain then can i export what i know are good working GPO's to another domain?

As long as you use the Group Policy Management Console it allows you to do exactly that.

Yep- can certainly be done. In fact I tend to test a group policy at home and then migrate it to work if it is sound.

What is the point in setting up now group policies when you have a perfectly good one in place on another system? If you go and make a new policy there could be possible gaps in security appose to a policy that has been into force for some time. In my opinion it’s a good idea to use a policy that is already in place and that has been proven to be effective.

I based the GPO at my current school on the one from my last school that I had a printed copy of. As it's only basically a series of selection boxes, I can't see how anyone could hold the 'right' to this. Obviously if various VBS scripts are used as part of it, or cutsomised REG changes are incorporated into the GPO, this may be a different matter.
