Homeland Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Hi Everyone, I will be attending Bett on Friday with a couple of teachers and one of them is the science co-coordinator who is looking for hardware solutions such as data logging etc, can anybody suggest or recomend a supplier that will be there demonstrating that type of equipment.

Andrew_C Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 We use PasPort; bought through SciChem.com. Lots of sensors, a variety on interfaces, and a usable software suite. The handheld loggers (Xplorer GLX) do suffer from a cr@p battery pack. Could be exacerbated by the fact that we almost always use them on the bench with the charger, rather than "in a field" on batteries.

They tell the computer they're a HID and send keystrokes to the Sensorlab app. No drivers and the software's cross-platform (Windows, Linux, OS X). It's that rare bit of curriculum hardware/software that Just Works. uLog USB Sensors

For datalogging to be useful, it is going to be somewhat complex. I don't understand how to work the stuff, I just hand them the instructions... Seems a bit of a"Permissions" issue with Win7 that I've found this morning.
