glennda Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Grey Squirrels are technically rodents that is probably why! Red Squirrels are endangered also
laserblazer Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 You'd have to go some to run down a grey squirrel. Believe me, I've tried. It jumped onto the bonnet, pulled of a wiper arm and used it to pole vault onto an overhanging branch. 1
featured_spectre Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 If you trap a red squirrel, you must release it as it is a protected species. If you catch a grey squirrel, you must kill it as it is classed as a pest. They also make good eating.
southhamster Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Hmmm, could improve the nutritional value of school dinners as well as getting rid of a pest.
Gatt Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 I'm sick of those Grey's - speeding up and down our street in their Audi Chestnut's But also hate it when I get stuck behind a doddering Red Squirrel in a flat cap... 1

elsiegee40 Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Having watched a grey sit in the gutter and chew through the boards to gain access into our roof.. and been unable to prevent it... I have no time for grey squirrels at all. The damage it did before we eventually caught and killed it in a rat trap was not good
Garacesh Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Tell me about it. They drive me nuts! Was that acorn-y pun?
Oaktech Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 You'd have to go some to run down a grey squirrel. Believe me, I've tried. It jumped onto the bonnet, pulled of a wiper arm and used it to pole vault onto an overhanging branch. One ran through the back wheel of my bike, locked it up sent me down the road on my backside, I was not impressed as I was on my way to do a 60 mile charity ride! Picked it out with a stick and carried on!
