Desktop Redirection Window 7

Hello Everyone,

We are running a network mainly consisting of W2k8R2 servers and recently most students and some staff have stopped getting a redirected desktop. Is their a command that can tell me where a machine is looking to for a redirected desktop? Also redirected start menu shortcuts\icons have also disappeared.

I Have attached a picture of Group Policy Management and where its redirecting student desktops to (staff desktops are redirected to the same server IE- '\\w2k8r2dc01\ICONS\Staff\Desktop' instead of '\\w2k8r2dc01\ICONS\Students\Desktop')

Many Thanks

User Configuration > Policies > Admin Template > Start Menu > "Remove User's folders from the Start Menu". Set this to Disbaled. This fixed the exact same issue with us.

If you use the group policy results wizard from within the Group policy management. Run the wizard for a user you know has failed on the PC they were using. (their username should appear) then run the result. You can see what policy applied and also look at the policy events tab to see if there was any errors.

Sorry It's not options, it's settings. Under User config > Windows Settings > Folder redirection > Desktop > Settings Tab > Grant user exclusive rights to desktop

It is identical to what you have in the picture bladedanny.

Thanks

Hi Chazzy,

I have ran the command below -

To run Gpresult.exe on your computer

Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then press ENTER.

Type gpresult /z>gp.txt to write the output to a text file that is named Gp.txt.

Type notepad gp.txtto open the text file.

and got the following result-

Any ideas? also is this the correct command to get GP results ?
