Domain Rename

Hi all,

 

I'm about to upgrade my 2008 Servers to 2012, however I was wondering how easy it would be to rename the domain before I upgrade. I want to rename it because currently the old company name is use din the domain name and I'd like to completely remove it from the domain name. Is there an easy way to rename or is it better off left alone ?

If you have an Exchange 2007 or later setup you can't, otherwise you can. Please check any third party software that you may/may not break in the process

It would be a migration if you have exchange installed, take a look at the ADMT here ADMT Guide: Migrating and Restructuring Active Directory Domains

I am setting up ADMT but can't seem to get it working, Cant connect to database or something. I Have set it up to use .\SQLEXPRESS like it told me to do.
