iCloud and Data Protection

Hello,

 

I have had a number of enquiries on how staff members can back up their school iPads in the event of loss or damage to them. My question is where do we stand with data protection laws with regards to iCloud and school data that staff may have on their iPads, my fear is that staff may have confidential information on their iPads and it’s being backed up to Apples servers and I have no control over this or where it is stored e.g usa servers therefore being stored outside of Europe.

 

How do you deal with this in your school?
