Does anyone know a formula to work out how long ive been at work? Am wanting to record my hours and see how many hours over im doing a week, but i just cant seem to get the hours and minutes formula. Say if i started work at 7:49 am and finished at 16:58, i would want excel to work out how many hours ive worked for. Thanks.

Try

=(MAX(A1:B1)-MIN(A1:B1))*24

It worked for me.

Google.com search function FTW!

Eh? What's wrong with just B1-A1? If you enter the time in hh:mm format then Excel should understand that it's dealing with time and do the correct type of maths.

Also don't forget to subtract time off for lunch, if people allow you to have lunch that is ;)

If the cells are correctly formatted as Time, then m2d2 is correct in that you can use more conventional formula of =cell-othercell and such.

The reason for that formula is because if he puts the time in either one, excel can still figure it out.

If you did A1-B1 and he put his clock in time in B1 and his end time in A1 then the formula wouldn't be the same and wouldn't give a correct amount of time.

Have a look at this. Should be self explanatory. Type in the Balance b/f, period and the start finish times and Bob's yer uncle!

You only have to adlust the period lookup table at the start of each year. Don't change anything else in the sheets apart from Title and School name! It will also print out the time sheet.
