sonofsanta Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 I think @jinnantonnixx has to have the point, as there's not many other games that have precipitated a market-wide crash of an entire entertainment medium, nor ended up buried in a mass grave in the Mexican desert (according to rumour, anyhow). It seems appropriate that this game was released now given that the English cricket side are equally as broken and horrific to watch right now. I wonder if we can withdraw them as well.

This isn't a joke, there really was a crash in 83 caused by poor quality games flooding the markets and driving consumers away. ET was the icing on the cake. Also check out he Atari 2600 version of Pac Man. IIRC, Atari also made more ET carts than there were consoles sold!

I also foresee another game crash soon if things keep going as they are. We are being flooded with titles that aren't unplayable, just absurdly priced rehash with a bit of dubious business practice sprinkled on top.

(I can';t even describe it on a tasteful forum!) My dad had Custers Revenge - it was rather bad Plenty of rubbish games I remember on the Speccy though.
