A sad loss to fantasy

I haven't had time over the last few days to put this up but thought I had better do so now before the news gets too old.

 

I am not sure how many of you are into science fiction and fantasy but just over a week ago one of my favourite authors passed away.

 

Robert Jordan died on 16th September of thickening of the walls of his heart after a lengthy battle with amyloidosis.

 

If you have never read the Wheel of Time series I would say that it is one of the best out there ... I feel that his work will stand the test of time.

 

It truly is a sad loss to the literary world.

don't you just hate it when authors die in the middle of something

i just hope george rr martin finishes fire & ice soon

lol never read them ( dont think I will ) just got recomended and it didnt cost much to buy them in pdf format versus buying the books.

 

So I figured why not Maybe when I get enough time ie retire

Brandon Sanderson was selected in December to complete the final book in the series based on sections already written, notes and recollections from Robert Jordan's wife, Harriet and cousin, Wilson, who had the final story told to them one evening not long before Robert passed away. Harriet will remain the editor of the book, as she had been for majority of Robert's other books. Completion is set for December 2008 and publication in autumn 2009 as originally planned.
